How to download and set up OMNE in Germany

Download OMNE in Germany: Android and iOS setup

OMNE is available in Germany on both Google Play for Android and the App Store for iOS. This guide covers the actual setup steps, what to check before you install, the prices you will see in EUR, and how to fix the three problems people run into most often. It also lists the privacy settings worth changing on your first day and a short checklist for getting to a first meeting.

Before you install

• Android 7.0 or newer, or iOS 13 or newer.
• About 200 MB of free storage.
• A working phone number or email for verification.
• A payment method only if you plan to upgrade: SEPA transfer, cards, or app store billing.

Install steps

• Open Google Play or the App Store and search for OMNE (package: com.omne5.app).
• Check that the developer name on the listing matches the one you expect before installing.
• Install, open the app, and allow notifications only if you want message alerts.
• Sign up with your phone number or email, then complete verification.
• Add at least three photos and a two-line bio. Profiles with three photos get materially more matches.

Prices in Germany

The app is free to download and free to message. Optional upgrades are displayed in EUR and billed through SEPA transfer, cards, or app store billing. Subscriptions can be cancelled from your store account; cancelling inside the app is not required. If you pay through Google Play or the App Store, manage the subscription in that store account so the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.

Three common problems

Cannot find the app in the store. Update your store app, clear its cache, and search by the package name com.omne5.app. If your device was purchased in another region, the store account region must match Germany.

Verification code not arriving. Wait 60 seconds, check your spam folder, then request the code again. Repeated requests can trigger a temporary limit.

Payment declined. Confirm the card allows international or digital subscriptions, and that the store account region matches your card's country.

Privacy settings worth changing on day one

• Turn off "show distance" if you live in a small area.
• Restrict who can message you first.
• Disable photo downloads where the option is available.
• Review the data section of your account. Under GDPR and the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz in Germany, you can request access to your data or its deletion.

How OMNE compares with swipe-only apps in Germany

Swipe-only apps optimise for time spent in the app. OMNE optimises for a first conversation: messaging is free, voice and video calls happen inside the app, and profiles are reviewed for scam and nudity patterns. In practice that means fewer matches that go nowhere and more matches that turn into a plan in Berlin.

A checklist before you start

• Set your distance filter to a range you can actually travel in Germany.
• Write a bio that names one place and one activity. It gives people something concrete to answer.
• Decide your intent (casual dating, relationship, friendship) and state it plainly.
• Turn on two-factor authentication if it is offered, and use a unique password.
• Plan the first meeting in public, in daylight where possible.

Seasonal patterns and timing

Activity in Germany rises before public holidays and in the first weeks of the year, and dips during major family holidays. If replies slow down, it is often the calendar rather than you. Peak activity runs from 8 to 11 pm local time, so messages sent in that window are more likely to be read the same evening. If you want to move from a match to a plan within a week, propose a specific day and place in your first few messages rather than leaving the question open.

Language and tone

English works in most urban conversations in Germany, but a single line in German changes the tone immediately. Keep it simple: a greeting, a thank-you, a compliment about something specific in the other person's profile. You do not need fluent German to use it well; one accurate sentence is enough to show effort.

FAQ

Is OMNE free? Yes for download and messaging. Upgrades are optional.

Does it work outside Germany? Yes. The same account works when you travel, and matches are based on your current location.

Which languages are supported? English plus more than 100 interface languages, including German.

How do I cancel an upgrade? Cancel from your Google Play or App Store account. You do not need to cancel inside the app.

Bottom line

Dating in Germany rewards specificity and timing more than perfect photos. Install the app from the correct store region, set your privacy options on day one, and use the app to start real conversations. Move to a plan within a week, and keep safety rules non-negotiable. That combination works in Berlin, and it works everywhere else.
