How much does OMNE cost in Malta? Coins, VIP and what is free
If you are in Malta and considering OMNE, you probably want to know what it costs before you sign up. The short answer: OMNE is free to download and use, with optional in-app purchases for extra features. There are no hidden fees, and you can enjoy the core experience without spending anything. This article explains the free tier, coin packs, VIP benefits, and how billing works on Google Play, so you can decide what fits your budget.
How OMNE works
OMNE (also known as omne5) is a dating app designed to help you meet people in a respectful and genuine way. In Malta, whether you are in Valletta, Sliema, or Gozo, you can use OMNE to connect with locals and expats. The app is free to download from Google Play, and you can start chatting and matching without paying. OMNE operates on a freemium model: the basic features are free, and you can choose to buy coins or subscribe to VIP for additional perks. All purchases are handled securely through Google Play's billing system.
What is free on OMNE
OMNE offers a generous free tier that lets you experience the app's core functionality. Here is what you get for free:
- Create your profile and add photos and a bio.
- Browse and discover other members in Malta.
- Like and match with people who interest you.
- Send and receive messages with your matches.
- Use basic filters to find people by age and distance.
These features are available without any payment. You can enjoy OMNE's core dating experience at no cost. Some advanced features, like seeing who liked you or boosting your profile, are part of the optional paid offerings.
Optional coin packs
OMNE uses a virtual currency called coins. You can purchase coin packs through Google Play to unlock certain features or actions. Coins are optional and not required to use the app. The exact prices of coin packs vary and are displayed in the app at the time of purchase. You can choose from different pack sizes, and the cost is shown in your local currency (EUR in Malta) before you confirm. Coins can be used for things like sending gifts or accessing premium features. OMNE does not publish fixed prices because they may change or vary by region, but you will always see the price clearly before you buy.
VIP benefits
VIP is OMNE's premium subscription that offers enhanced features for a more efficient dating experience. While the exact benefits may evolve, typical VIP perks include:
- See who liked you without guessing.
- Boost your profile to get more visibility.
- Advanced filters for more precise matching.
- Ad-free experience (if ads are present).
- Priority support or other exclusive features.
VIP is available as a recurring subscription (e.g., monthly) or possibly as a one-time purchase for a set period. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe. As with coin packs, OMNE does not list exact prices here because they may vary and are subject to change.
In-app purchases on Google Play
All purchases in OMNE are processed through Google Play's billing system. This means you can pay using the payment method linked to your Google account, such as a credit card, PayPal, or Google Play gift card. Google Play handles the transaction securely, and you will receive a receipt via email. If you have any issues with a purchase, you can contact Google Play support. OMNE does not store your payment details.
How to cancel
If you have subscribed to VIP or made a one-time purchase, you can manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play. Here is how:
- Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
- Tap your profile icon and go to Payments & subscriptions.
- Select Subscriptions and find OMNE in the list.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
You can also manage subscriptions via the Google Play website. Cancelling a subscription stops future charges, but you will retain access until the end of the current billing period. Note that coin packs are one-time purchases and are not refundable, except as required by law or Google Play policy.
Who OMNE is for
OMNE is for anyone in Malta looking for a straightforward and respectful dating experience. Whether you are new to the island or a long-time resident, OMNE helps you meet people without pressure. The free tier is perfect for those who want to try the app without commitment, while coin packs and VIP are there for users who want extra visibility or convenience.
