Is OMNE free in Romania? Coins, VIP and what you actually get
If you are in Romania and wondering whether OMNE costs money, here is the short answer: OMNE is free to download and free to use for daily messaging. You can chat with matches, send messages, and explore the app without paying. Optional coins and VIP tiers exist for people who want extras like unlimited chat or higher-quality video calls. This article explains exactly what you get for free, what costs money, and how to manage or cancel your subscription.
How OMNE works in Romania
OMNE (also known as omne5) is a dating app available on Google Play. In Romania, you can download it at no cost and create a profile. The app uses your location to suggest people nearby, and you can start conversations with matches. The free version gives you a set number of daily messages, which reset every 24 hours. That means you can have meaningful chats without spending anything. If you want to send more messages or access premium features, you can buy coins or subscribe to VIP. Everything is optional. The app works the same way across Romania, whether you are in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, or smaller towns.
What you get for free on OMNE
The free tier is designed to be genuinely useful, not a teaser. Here is what you get without paying:
- Free download and profile creation. No credit card required to sign up.
- Daily messages. You receive a set number of free messages each day to start and continue conversations.
- Matching and browsing. You can like, match, and view profiles.
- Basic video calls. You can make video calls, though VIP offers higher-quality video.
- Safety features. Reporting and blocking are free for everyone.
These free features are enough to meet people and decide if you enjoy the app. Many users in Romania use OMNE entirely for free.
Coins: what they are and when you might use them
Coins are a virtual currency inside OMNE. You can buy them in packs, and they never expire. Coins let you unlock extra features without a monthly commitment. For example, you can use coins to send additional messages beyond your daily free limit, or to boost your profile for more visibility. Coins are optional. If you never buy them, you still get your free daily messages and all the basic features. You can purchase coins directly through Google Play, and the price is shown in Romanian lei (RON) before you confirm.
VIP tiers: unlimited chat and better video calls
VIP is a subscription that gives you more freedom and better quality. There are typically two tiers, and the exact names and prices are shown in the app before you subscribe. Here is what VIP generally includes:
- Unlimited chat. Send as many messages as you want without waiting for the daily reset.
- Higher-quality video calls. Clearer picture and sound for more natural conversations.
- See who liked you. Skip the guessing and match faster.
- No ads. A smoother, uninterrupted experience.
- Profile boost. Get seen by more people in your area.
VIP is billed through your Google Play account. You can cancel anytime, and you keep VIP benefits until the end of the period you already paid for.
How to cancel your OMNE subscription
Canceling is straightforward and you do not need to contact support. Follow these steps:
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Go to Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Find OMNE (or omne5) in the list and tap it.
- Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
If you cancel, you will not be charged again. You can still use the free features. If you have trouble, Google Play support can help.
How to delete your OMNE account
If you want to leave OMNE completely, you can delete your account from inside the app. Usually, you go to your profile settings, find the account section, and choose Delete account. This removes your profile, matches, and messages permanently. If you cannot find the option, you can contact OMNE support through the app or the Google Play listing. Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription, but you should still cancel it through Google Play to avoid future charges.
Who OMNE is for
OMNE is for adults in Romania who want a simple, honest dating app without pressure. It suits people who prefer to start with free messaging and only pay if they want more. It is not for anyone looking for a guaranteed relationship or instant results. If you value clear pricing, optional upgrades, and the ability to cancel easily, OMNE is a good fit. If you dislike any form of in-app purchases, the free tier still works well.
Honest note: no dating app can promise you a match or a relationship. OMNE gives you tools to connect, but the rest is up to you.
