Is OMNE free in Zimbabwe? Coins, VIP and what you actually get
If you are in Zimbabwe and wondering whether OMNE costs money, the short answer is: OMNE is free to download and free to use for everyday chatting. You can send a set number of messages every day at no cost. Optional coins and VIP tiers exist for people who want more, but you are never forced to pay to enjoy the app.
This article explains exactly what you get for free, what coins and VIP add, and how to manage or cancel your subscription. We keep it factual and honest, so you can decide what works for your budget.
How OMNE works
OMNE (also known as omne5) is a dating and social app available on Google Play. In Zimbabwe, you can download it for free using a normal internet connection, whether you are on Econet, NetOne, Telecel, or Wi-Fi. Once installed, you create a profile, set your preferences, and start browsing matches.
The app uses your location and interests to suggest people nearby. You can chat via text, send voice notes, and make video calls. The free version gives you a daily allowance of messages, which resets every day. If you want unlimited chatting or higher-quality video calls, you can buy coins or subscribe to VIP. Everything else — browsing, matching, and receiving messages — remains free.
What you get for free
Here is what every Zimbabwean user gets without paying anything:
- Free download and registration — no sign-up fee.
- Daily free messages — a set number of messages you can send each day to new matches. The exact number may vary, but it is enough to start conversations.
- Browse and match — see profiles, like, and match with people.
- Receive unlimited messages — anyone can message you, and you can read and reply within your daily limit.
- Basic video calls — make video calls, though quality may be standard.
This free tier is designed to be genuinely useful, not just a teaser. Many users in Zimbabwe use OMNE for weeks without spending anything.
Coins: what they are and when to use them
Coins are OMNE's virtual currency. You can buy them in bundles through Google Play. Coins let you do things like send extra messages after your daily free ones run out, or unlock certain profile boosts. They are optional and consumed only when you choose to use them.
Coins do not expire, so you can buy a small pack and use them over time. There is no requirement to buy coins to keep your account active. If you never buy coins, you can still use OMNE free forever.
VIP tiers: unlimited chat and better video calls
VIP is a subscription that unlocks premium features. It comes in tiers (for example, weekly, monthly, or longer periods). The main benefits include:
- Unlimited chat — no daily message limit.
- Higher-quality video calls — clearer picture and sound.
- See who liked you — save time by matching faster.
- Ad-free experience — no interruptions.
- Priority visibility — your profile may be shown more often.
VIP is billed through Google Play. Prices are shown in your local currency or USD equivalent before you confirm. You can cancel anytime and keep VIP until the end of the paid period.
How to cancel VIP or coins
If you subscribed to VIP through Google Play, you can cancel in a few steps:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find OMNE and tap Cancel subscription.
You will not be charged again after cancelling. Coins are one-time purchases and cannot be cancelled, but they also do not renew. If you have trouble, contact OMNE support from the app's settings.
How to delete your account
You can delete your OMNE account at any time. This removes your profile and matches permanently. Steps:
- Open OMNE and go to your profile or settings.
- Find Account or Privacy.
- Select Delete account and confirm.
If you cannot find the option, use the in-app help or support email to request deletion. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription, so cancel that separately as shown above.
Who OMNE is for
OMNE is for adults in Zimbabwe who want to meet new people, chat, and possibly build relationships. It suits people who prefer a simple, free-to-start app without pressure to pay. It is not for anyone under 18, and it is not a place for harassment or fake profiles. If you want unlimited messaging and better video calls, VIP is there; if you just want to try dating online, the free version is enough.
